Linking newly developed roads to NH-56 increased connectivity between villages and the district headquarters, easing logistical hurdles for farmers transporting produce to Maharashtra’s larger cities. The project was concluded safely and punctually despite obstacles like rugged terrain, forest zones, limited work hours, wildlife concerns, and remote material transportation.

Four-Laning of Gagalheri-Saharanpur-Yamunanagar section of NH-
73 in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana
a. The stretch is part of Dehradun and Yamunanagar in the
state of Uttarakhand – connects Dehradun with Chandigarh
and Delhi. The stretch is also part of the under construction
Delhi – Dehradun Expressway.
b. The project involved widening and upgrading of the existing
Gagalheri-Saharanpur-Yamunanagar road, which connects
the towns of Gagalheri in Uttarakhand, Saharanpur in Uttar
Pradesh and Yamunanagar in Haryana, after crossing
Yamuna River at UP/Haryana border.
c. The project has significantly improved the connectivity of
the region, especially in terms of trade and commerce.
d. It has also reduced travel time and improve road safety,
which is benefitting local population as well as the
commuters passing through the region.

The project involved four-laning of the Chutmalpur-Ganeshpur section of NH-72A and the Roorkee-Chutmalpur-Gagalheri section of NH-73. The 53.3 kilometers of four-laning work was successfully completed in time.

The 70.5-kilometer-long eight-lane work is 97% completed. It will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Panipat by 60%.
